@bharathanrd @cobbaltt I once wrote an article for which the title was "The Love of embedded Languages". Since it was to be published in a volume where everything was in French, it became "L'amour des langues enchâssées". #ClassicalTamil is for me a lovable #embeddedLanguage :-) https://t.co/PDSF8mqEYq

@NChozhan This isn't what I have in mind when I use expression #embeddedLanguage. Am adapting this from p.39 in 2008 book by M. Kay "#XSLT 2.0 and #XPath 2.0, Programmer's reference, 4th Edition, John Wiley & Sons, where he describes connection between XSLT & Xpath @samopriya @bharathanrd

@KannanR2019 @bharathanrd As for #Sanskrit, my perception is it is that it is not a #Standalone language. For many centuries, it has lived the life of an #EmbeddedLanguage, thanks to the speakers of many languages, just like #Latin. People who think that Sanskrit is selfsufficient are not realist.

@VineethRajan9 @cobbaltt The features of that #EmbeddedLanguage are ideal and live only through the SPECIFICATION implicit in the training (if it is available as for #திவ்வியபிரப��்தம்) of the cultivation of a grammar like the #தொல்காப்பியம், etc.

Ancient literary Tamil is not very different from vedic sanskrit, because it is a language which is maintained alive through VOLUNTARY training and exists only as an ideal, living a half-life on top of 1 or several living (natural) language. I call it an #EmbeddedLanguage ...
