I dislike this concept of ‘homegrown’. It’s essentialist, ‘tribal’ & has been abused by politicians However, I agree with @PLAASuwc, policy development must be informed by lived experience, context and wisdoms of people. Africa needs to regain it's policy space. Can't make policy if you don't understand context, culture & socio economics of the area. External consultants can "help" where needed, but homegrown policies are key to ensuring successful #landpolicy for African development #CLPA2017
