This sounds-turned-syllabary script has morphed back into an alphabet, I felt that the chaotic glyphs needed some smaller pieces to break them up so they could have some elbow room. So some little added vowel markers were in order.

Here is a new script! When I first tested this one the shapes didn't feel congruent or look how I envisioned when I made my initial sketch. So I cut half the characters and redesigned a bunch more. Don't be afraid to throw away shapes that don't work for you!

I wanted a blocky vertical script, starting with squares as my basic shapes. Placing the calligraphy nib at 90° instead of 45° really helped the overall look!

Slow and steady progression on one of the projects I am most proud of, the archaic form of a conlang commissioned by @hannah_m_long. This example is a 5 syllable cluster. Each syllable layers directly atop the last, rotated 60°.

I was making this script, and had the disappointing feeling that it was unoriginal for me. I always want my new script to be the best one I've made yet. But having a tendency toward a style is ok. If you're frustrated, enjoy what you did well and try again!

My scripts typically go through several iterations as part of the development process. I also like trying to mimic the passage of time on a writing system by getting lazy and only producing the necessary aspect of a character.
