So just to clarify, I haven't marked a student book in the last 6 years. My dept only mark PPQs & exams at IB & GCSE. At KS3 we assess 1-2 formative tasks & 1 summative per topic (x3).

Always gobsmacked at how this was the norm in my first 4 years of teaching. A constant cycle of teach, mark, teach, mark...
For anyone experiencing this, there are schools out there that don't demand this! So glad I gave one more school a go back in 2016!

@boxmooryoga @Positivteacha During lockdown, I read all of the work my pupils submitted online. Just didnβt type individual comments. Instead, in live lessons, I gave verbal whole class feedback & did βre-teachβ tasks based on common errors. Not dissimilar to what I do in a real class. #FeedbackNotMarking
Completed my first whole class feedback sheet of the year. I forgot how much easier these are. This year we are going to stick it in and highlight the statements they think are applicable to them and reply to this feedback. Let's see how this works. #feedbacknotmarking
Now that I no longer blog really and the #feedbacknotmarking book has hit a wall, I've decided to take about 1/3 of my all books on pedagogy into school.
