During the #BattleOfBritain he flew with the Polish #303Squadron and was shot down, parachuting himself to safety. On 29 April 1942, he ran out of luck. Marian #Pisarek, Polish #FighterAce, the CO of the #308Squadron and 1st Polish Fighter Wing, was KIA over France 80 years ago.
In #September1939, he defended the Polish sky against the #Luftwaffe. One year later, he joined the Polish #303Squadron, achieving the #FighterAce status during the #BattleOfBritain. Witold #Łokuciewski, the last Commander of the 303th Squadron, passed away on 17 April 1990.

Eugeniusz #Horbaczewski, a Polish #FighterAce with 16 and a half confirmed kills, went MIA #OTD in 🗓 1944. The wreck of his Mustang with the pilot’s body inside was found in 1947. He was the commander of the #315Squadron, and on the day he went missing, his unit scored 16 kills.
#OTD on 18 Aug 1944, Squadron Leader Eugeniusz Horbaczewski, CO of the No. 315 🇵🇱 Fighter Squadron, was shot down and killed.
He was a 🇵🇱 #FighterAce with 16.5 confirmed kills, who was awarded several decorations, including the Virtuti Militari & the Distinguished Flying Cross.
