Another day, another failure from Newsom’s EDD. A blistering report highlights EDD “caused hardship for unemployed workers and their families” during tough economic times and “mischaracterized” the extent of its problems to the state Legislature. #FixEDD https://t.co/32nmuDCvs4

Hey @CAgovernor Newsome, why is @CA_EDD STILL SO SCREWED UP? You promised to fix it, its still very broken! I voted for you during your recall, I won't vote for your reelection if EDD is not fixed. Backed up excuses have lasted waaay too long. #FixEDD

EDD is plagued with problems. It’s far past time the Legislature and the Governor do something to fix it. I’m committed to finding solutions to once and for all #FixEDD.

EDD reported $20 billion in fraud to the Legislature. Rampant fraud is one of many reasons my colleagues & I introduced legislation to #FixEDD.

Unemployed Californians have been left holding the bag for almost 2 years while this big, bloated gov't bureaucracy failed them on every level. Why @GavinNewsom & #CADems waited so long to hold this behemoth, dysfunctional agency accountable is the $20 billion question. #FixEDD

It could take EDD over 5 months to contact you about your unemployment benefits eligibility. Completely unacceptable. #FixEDD If you are a District 38 constituent and need assistance with EDD, please contact my office: https://t.co/Oex33V3uTI

Throughout the pandemic, EDD failed struggling Californians every step of the way. At today’s oversight hearing, we’re going to demand accountability. Share your story by calling 877-692-8957, Access Code: 131 54 202 and tell officials we need to #FixEDD. https://t.co/srHLTA6VAO

Almost 2 years into the pandemic, EDD is still filled with inexcusable issues. Senate Republicans are calling on the Joint Legislative Audit Committee to hold a hearing on EDD’s status towards implementing critical reforms. #FixEDD Read our letter here: https://t.co/XLvSeUxDu7

Unfortunately, our Governor has not responded to any of these requests. At a time when Californians deserve answers on these important issues facing our state, these fundamental oversight hearings & responsibilities should not be delayed. #CADeservesBetter #FixEDD

EDD fails to fulfill their sole purpose: get UI benefits to eligible people. Now, they are opening the system to fraudsters AGAIN. Because of the growing claim backlog, EDD will speed up payments. EDD acknowledged this may result in ineligible people getting benefits. #FixEDD

30 billion could pay for a lot of stuff in CA. It could pay for every Californian’s dinner at the French Laundry, tax & tip included. 🤔 EDD’s staggering fraud failure is unacceptable. #FixEDD https://t.co/tk1oS7cn2K

CA lost $30 billion to EDD fraud. $30 BILLION. This @CaliforniaGlobe article breaks down what that money could pay for. It’s a staggering amount, most of it gone forever. What an embarrassing failure for @GavinNewsom! #FixEDD https://t.co/tk1oS6ULEa

Working to correct EDD’s failures has been one of the highest priorities for Senate Republicans. ➡️$30B in fraud ➡️200,000 claims older than 21 days ➡️900,000+ awaiting certification I am happy to say 3 of our bills to #FixEDD cleared another committee yesterday!

As we work to combat #EDDFraud, know that starting July 11 you must be seeking work to keep receiving benefits. These are unprecedented times, but many businesses are looking to hire NOW! Let’s get those stuck the help they need, and let’s get Californians back to work! #FixEDD

The EDD still has a backlog of 230,000 claims. ANOTHER 230,000 are on hold, and 900,000 more are awaiting certification. It’s shameful that many people are stuck in limbo because of CA’s incompetence. #FixEDD https://t.co/OXCPh4Wrsp

The staggering stories of Newsom’s EDD failures continue… A woman stole identities, including prisoners’, to cash in $477,000. She said: “I did it, and it just was to have extra money.” Two other women grabbed $1.2M! Californians can't afford more EDD failures. #FixEDD

Masks are coming off, but too many Californians are still struggling. ➡Over 1 million stuck in an EDD backlog. ➡For people going back to work, another gas tax increase on July 1. People need a break! #FixEDD #GasIsTooDamnHigh
