Excellent presentation thread by @chacker414 in #EncounterUncia on the effectiveness of #FoxLights to deter livestock depredation by #SnowLeopard and #Wolves! Reports mixed effectiveness, highlights the need for more research, & application of multiple simultaneous strategies!

#Foxlights which are largely used to deter predators, are being applied by WCT, in this case, to deter herbivores. A foxlight comes equipped with solar powered LED bulbs that flash lights of various colours randomly, and function from dusk till dawn.

Our first ⁦@Foxlights1⁩ Foxlight in-lethal night predator deterrent device just arrived, generously donated by ⁦@briankhepri⁩... thank you! Two more are on the way, and all of them will be used to mitigate the human-wildlife conflict in central Chile, and reduce (1/2)
