This breathtaking place you see is in #Gitoga, my home village 💚… nestled in #Rurambo, which, as of yesterday, is finally under the control of #Intare and #Amadubu of #Twirwaneho_M23! 💪🔥 For years, #Gitoga was one of military strategic zones in Rurambo for #MaiMai and their allied militia including #FDLR and others, who had sworn that no #Munyamulenge in Rurambo will survive! In 2021, #Rurambo was completely wiped out, all villages burned to ashes, very old people who couldn’t flee were trapped and set on fire in their homes, all crops torched, all cattle looted, thousands of survivors had no choice but to flee. Some found temporary refuge in #Bwegera (plaine de la Ruzizi), while many scattered across Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and Kenya, all carrying nothing but the hope of returning home. A year later, as some militias were pushed back, a few families began returning to their villages, determined to rebuild from the ashes! Today, the people of #Rurambo welcome their sons (#Intare n’#Amadubu) as liberators, finally breaking free from years of oppression. Now, they can live in peace, move freely, and reclaim their rightful place in their own country, just like any other Congolese citizen! Vive #Twirwaneho_M23! 🦁🐻 Vive #AFC! 💪
