Some think chaplains are 'cheap' & having properly qualified counsellors/youth workers wld cost 2 much Two things: 1. Aren't kids worth the extra $$$? 2. Chaplains aren't as cheap as some think⬇️ 3. Employers like Scripture Union Qld take 20% in admin fees #GodKeeper #auspol

Most chaplains are hired by evangelical orgs like Scripture Union. Their aim is to bring people 2 Jesus. We shld take them at their word that this is what they want 2 do, so why shld they choose support workers 4 kids in public schools?

Bottom line is, student support workers shld be hired on merit, religious or not, & hired directly by education departments, not evangelical organisations that have their own agenda. Chaplaincy is not suitable for public schools. #GodKeeper #auspol

@ShiannonC @psss_qld No worker in a state school should HAVE to be religious to get a job. Hire the best people for the job regardless of their religious beliefs if we really have the best interests of children at heart. No more #GodKeeper taxpayer funding for chaplaincy.
