"remove RI [eg. SRE] from govt schools altogether so that they are truly secular and inclusive, as was intended when govt schools were first established in the 1870s. There's no real need to replace RI [SRE] with any alternative program." #nswpol#qldpol https://t.co/CpJVPiY7OI
New research into the scale of Christian nationalist sentiment has revealed broad opposition among the British public to the idea that Christianity is essential to British identity.

Clare is lying again about the Albanese government fixing the chronic undrfunding of government schools (by letting state schools to drag their feet on their contributions) #qt#nswpol
Full funding of govt schools is being delayed another decade: Minister Clare's spin is highly dishonest to the point of profoundly misleading parliament #qt#auspol#nswpol#qldpol#springst#wapol

@mpjensen@JoshuaBowman@LeslieCannold@dzyngier@Peter_Fitz@JaneCaro Determining where public school children 'stand' in relation to their own 'tradition/s' is a multi-factor issue. Whether students knowledge of their traditions facilitates critical thinking requires further discussion, as well as whether they have their 'their own traditions' 2/2
When religious lobbyists realised that the ABS was proposing to change the Census religion question to remove its 'leading' nature, they mounted a media campaign and called for government intervention. Find out more: https://t.co/Jkguls3lDZ

Public schools are not “promoting Sharia law.”
Christians, meanwhile, have spent decades pushing Bible distribution, school prayer, and Ten Commandments displays in schools.
If your standard is “no religious indoctrination,” apply it consistently or spare us the outrage.
Jason Clare declaring that returning ISIS-brides' children will participate in countering violent extremism programs both ignores and higlights these programs are for children 10 years of age and above
We condemn this exclusionary shift in U.S. diplomacy. Elevating one faith while erasing others undermines true religious freedom and pluralism. The State Department must represent all — not advance Christian nationalist messaging. https://t.co/IaB3YKMGt6
These clowns, who facilitate or even run lunchtime prayer groups in public schools, shouldn't be let anywhere near children without parental or guardian supervision #nswpol#auspol#qldpol
58% of British adults think #ReligiousStudies is unimportant at secondary schools. And a quarter of England's secondary schools do not offer #ReligiousEducation. Time to rethink RE. 👇 https://t.co/DcWu9JVJ7R #Education
The abhorrent attack at Bondi beach does not mean there are deficiencies at any level of our education system. It does not follow and isn’t evidence based.
In schools, students are taught that everyone is equal, everyone deserves to be treated fairly and with respect and that violence and hatred have no place in a civilised society.
Indeed young people have been leading the way expressing their distress and outrage at what occurred in Bondi and what is still happening in Gaza.
Their concern is for the safety and integrity of every human being. They’re not worried about the politics: they see the reality of events and react with uncorrupted humanity.
Now is not the time to make far-reaching policy decisions as a knee-jerk reaction to a tragic event.
We need to take time to properly understand what happened, to identify potentially remediable causes of what happened and direct government policy there.
We need to wrap our arms around a distressed community and take time to address a way forward that might actually reduce the threat of an occurrence.
The current finger-pointing demonstrates the confusion in the fog of which proper policy cannot be formulated.
