Labor Minister Clare O'Neil worked for McKinsey so she lies through her teeth for a living.
Labors own Budget papers (below) say zero houses were built with "money" from Labors #HAFF scam investment .
In fact the only houses built were by the investment bankers who run this scam.
This is a lie. When you’ve got no housing plan you fall back on scare campaigns and misinformation.
Labor has already completed more than 6,000 social and affordable homes, including more than 1,000 through the HAFF. These homes are changing the lives of veterans, and women and children escaping domestic violence.
More than 23,000 additional homes are now in planning and construction, including more than 17,000 under the HAFF.
Homes take time to build. But this is part of our plan to deliver 55,000 social and affordable homes, a generational investment to support Australians doing it tough.
The Coalition built just 373 social and affordable homes in a decade in office. Housing got worse under them and they did nothing.
The section of the Budget papers they’re referring to relates to HAFF homes contracted in 2025–26. After contracting 18,000 homes in 2024–25, this year has focused on getting projects under construction and working with industry and community housing providers to design HAFF Round 3.
HAFF Round 3 is rolling out right now and more than 21,000 additional homes will be contracted next financial year.
The real question is this: if the Coalition cuts the HAFF - as they have promised - what happens to those homes and the Australians relying on them?
The value of total residential building approvals fell 15.8% to $10.77b in March 1/4 2026.

🧱 #AndrewBragg Tries to Block #HousingReform He Can’t Actually Block – While Complaining About Red Tape
Let’s break this down.
The Liberal Party got absolutely smoked at the election.
They ran on housing, blocked the #HAFF, and hinted they’d fix things if elected.
Spoiler: They weren’t elected.
Now? Bragg’s big comeback move is… trying to block a Build-to-Rent policy that would add 80,000 rental homes over the next decade.
But here’s the twist: he can’t block it.
The Greens back the legislation. Labor has the numbers. This “disallowance motion” is just theatre. Empty noise. A stunt.
So what’s Bragg actually doing?
He’s wasting Parliament’s time pretending to fight red tape… by wrapping red tape around a solution to the rental crisis.
He calls the policy a “foreign investor tax cut” — even though:
It requires 50+ dwellings per project
Homes must be held for 15 years
8000 will be affordable rentals
And it brings Australia in line with global norms
That’s not a loophole. It’s a scaffold for rental supply.
Meanwhile, his alternative? A gimmick where first-home buyers get to deduct mortgage interest — a move that does nothing for renters and would just pour fuel on house prices.
Bragg’s pitch is this:
“Cut red tape!”
Also Bragg:
“Let’s vote to increase red tape and delay housing for optics.”
Mate. Pick one.
Your party broke housing. You lost the election. Now you’re standing in the rubble blocking the builders from cleaning it up — and yelling about regulations.
It’s not policy. It’s performance.
It’s not leadership. It’s legacy damage control.
