Reconceptualizing Educational Capabilities: A Relational Capability Theory for Redressing Inequalities https://t.co/bZMDymetzF
This reminds me of what I was recently learning about the capabilities approach at #hdca2019, which centers justice in economics. You can be morally wrong and you’re evidence can be wrong. With economic inequality, the neoliberal economic paradigm is wrong on both accounts.
.@AngelaHanks: Progressives are not just morally right about the harms of inequality, the economics are also on our side. We need to fundamentally change the way the economy works. #UnboundEconomy @equitablegrowth
A huge thanks to all who took part in @HDCA2019_London from the organisers, staff, those who presented & attended. A really special few days, so many nice moments. Hope you all enjoyed and returned home safely, hopefully see you in 2020, in New Zealand 🇳🇿 #Hdca2019

“Change is always political, there will always be pushback. But collective action creates the space to challenge the belief that says that inequity and exclusion are the norm.” @Kripa_Basnyat @lseinequalities @atlanticfellow speaking at @HCDA2019_London
This week OPHI's @rnogales @sabina_alkire Nicolai Suppa & Usha Kanagaratnam were delighted to participate in a thematic panel discussing the global MPI and the process of revising the index at the #HDCA2019 conference in London #multidimensionalpoverty

#Hdca2019 Amartya Sen in an interview with Elaine Unterhalter drew on Karl Marx to refer to the individual as always embedded in the social, and to think about the dialectic nature of change for our times. Time to reread Sen closely - stop the neoliberal coopting of CA.

.@CapabilityApp As Sen explains action & research live together. Coalitions require labour, care and a story. To live courageously, we need better stories of the value of human interdependency. We need to stay with the trouble - nothing can be changed until it is faced #Hdca2019
