When you started collecting sources a decade ago on a project, when you weren’t proficient at transcribing & now wonder why you struggled so much as you are cleaning up earlier work, but then remember you never got training in paleography as a modern historian #historianproblems

It distresses me when i see undated historical letters (see: Henry VIII's love letters to Anne Boleyn). Thus, I always date my own letters, at least with the year. I have no illusions that i will ever be noteworthy, but i have to have it there, just in case! #historianproblems
