Can you fight a war against climate change? Very difficult to discern liability. Responsibility is temporally and globally dispersed. Who is the aggressor? Is there even one..? To be just war, it must be a proportionate counter-attack against an aggressor. #ICOS22
So we need more on sustainability pedagogy rather than a focus on SDGs as content - and more thought on how we conduct research sustainably (not just doing more research on sustainability). #icos22
Reflecting on fascinating keynote from @DaniellaTilbury and I’m struck by how much of what we do on sustainability in HE research and teaching is about content (*what* we do). Much less focus on *how* we teach or research sustainably. #ICOS22

Even more important changes in HE driven by divestment from fossil fuels. Impact much beyond the university boundaries. Half of UK universities have committed to divestment already. #ICOS22
What does disruption look like? University of Cambridge removed beef and lamb from menus on campus, resulted in massive reduction of CO2 in food bought. But also ripple effect of conversations across campus. #ICOS22
SDGs are about responsibility and action. They are about questioning our current ways of living and working (including in universities). Making structural changes (not just turning off lights!). #ICOS22
What does disruption look like in HE? Why is it needed? 85% of uni strategic plans promise a better future for their graduates. SDGs are not about content but doorways to change. This is (or should be) disruptive! #ICOS22
