Say what you want about IPwe, but the vision is FAR too big to just be tossed out. Theres a reason why names like Deloitte, IBM, Maersk, WIPO, $CSPR & more all took notice of IPwe. The value locked within IPs are INSANE currently The SP500 alone is made of 84% intangible assets. When we zoom out and look at IPwe like this we can see a healthy blend of clients, customers, collaborations & infrastructure. I would also imagine that the business IPwe is running is quite expensive to maintain. Think about it, not only are they using IPs but quite a bit of AI & likely financial algorithms within their SIAM. General AI integrations are already seen as quite expensive to large corporations, let alone industry purposed AI for a startup?! Ambitious would be quite a fitting. Maybe this was a vision better suited for a larger more established and funded technology firm that's knowledgable in patents. Kind of like IBM? After all, they play a pretty integral role in IPwe's foundations from their tech stack all the way to the team itself. I've mentioned why IBM buying out IPwe would make perfect sense prior & this belief has only grown stronger. • IPwe's essentially part of $CSPR x IBM • Leann P & Satoshi W are ex-IBM patent execs • IBM is the bridge from Fabric to Casper for IPs • IBM global leader in US patents for ~30 years Now beyond this let's not forget IPwe is quite involved within Japan. This makes a lotta sense given that Japan is 3rd in patents only behind China & the US at #1 & #2 respectively. From partnering with Deloitte Tohmatsu to building out a IP database registry alongside Toshiba, these are two massive establishments in Japan. And let's not forget that IPwe had also opened up their subsidiary in Japan as IPwe Japan too! This is one part of IPwe I think many of us overlooked. But one could also argue that the expansion could've hypothetically led to them being spread too thin. The Ch 11 bankruptcy was filed in Delaware US & the US only, which in return means that IPwe Japan fundamentally shouldn't be affected. Subsidiaries are typically legally separate entities, so they maintain their own assets, liabilities, and operations. Though of course there could be indirect impacts such as financial support or contract agreements. Let's also keep in mind that a Ch 11 is a restructure type of bankruptcy. Ch 11 is primarily aimed at reorganization, allowing businesses to continue operating while restructuring their debts and finances under court supervision. It provides a framework for businesses to negotiate with creditors, restructure debts & potentially emerge as an official entity in the future once again. On the other hand, Chapter 7 bankruptcy involves the liquidation of assets to pay off creditors, typically resulting in the closure of the business. Simply put, the bankruptcy IPwe has filed for is regarding restructuring their business, debt, assets, etc. Whereas I've previously spoken about how the vision for IPwe almost seems too early to be brought to the industry. While 90% of the space is still just noise, here we have this solution that looks to unlock one of the most valuable illiquid markets in our world? The tech was there, the team was there, but the knowledge and interest just wasn't there yet. Many firms are still relatively clueless to just how DLT can be utilized for industry value add purposes. Personally I do believe that IPwe came too early. But this leads me to my next speculation, what if IPwe was created so early on to secure the IP of the vision they have? Securing the IP of a platform that plans to unlock the value of IPs... IPception.
