Eric Verrico was #JohnMinton's student and life model, one of ‘Johnny’s Circus’. In 1949, Verrico was conscripted to the RAF and broke off his friendship with Minton, causing great anguish.

John Minton's ebullient personality dances through 'Landscape and Windmill,' painted in 1945. His visual vocabulary has embraced and recycled Samuel Palmer as well as Jankel Adler whose stylised figures were clearly an inspiration in Minton's early post-war paintings.
