We ran across these wicked spiders right next to the porch where I sit most often earlier today. They’re pretty freaky looking and quite large each one being about 2 inches from one into the other. And great web builders by the looks of it.

This footage was all taken during the month of August in Northern Illinois. The first stop on my visit back to the Midwest and on my way home. This place definitely feels like a second home at this point. Lots of work, but we always make time to play.

There’s just something about a Midwest sunset. The silhouette of the fields and the barns, the old silos. Hell even the trees against the colorful backdrop in the last few moments as the sun is setting. There is beauty all around you if you take the time to look.

I got to spend a little more time with my new friend the great blue Heron this morning. He watched my every move, no matter the distance from him. Tolerated me snapping shots for longer than normal. And flew off as if startled by my movement.

We went to an antique tractor and steam show today for a little while. We just caught the tail end, but I was lucky enough to capture some good shots of some really cool old tractors. These are just a few, there were hundreds there.

This video is also from Sycamore Speedway last Saturday. It was a ton of fun hanging out with friends watching metal band and the numbers go speeding by. It’s been many years since I went to the races. I didn’t realize what I was missing.

So Saturday night, we went to the races at Sycamore Speedway. It was a lot of fun. A few wrecks several wheels flying off mid race. Plenty of paint being exchanged. It was on a clay track so it wasn’t real dusty and nowhere near as loud as expected.

It turns out steak ‘n Shake has bitcoin burgers. The only difference is they brand the bitcoin logo on the bun, and you can pay with bitcoin if you choose. I don’t think I’ll do that, but it is still a novel marketing plan.
