#LB132 Thanks to Senator DeBoer for believing in education professionals, school boards, and the department of education. Thanks for being supportive, something her colleagues seem to have forgotten, when supposedly some (many?) of them started on school boards.

#LB132 Senator Wayne rightly disparaging the disappearance of vocational and trade preparation from K-12 education. Some students must retake the basics in community college. Basics that should have happened in K-12.

I’ll say it again for the people in the back. K-12 education in Nebraska does NOT have a spending problem, we have a FUNDING problem. Currently, Nebraska ranks 49th in its contributions to K-12 education. #FixTheFundingProblem #LB132 #weLIVEhere #neleg

False. The 16 member commission “shall conduct an in-depth review of the financing of the public elementary & secondary schools...which would provide equitable educational opportunities across the state & offer alternatives to heavy reliance on property tax.” #ReadTheBill #LB132

Today the Legislature will debate LB 132, a bill that creates a commission to rubber stamp tax increases on hardworking Nebraskans under the guise of fixing school funding. No more tax increases – Nebraskans are taxed too much already!
