In Alma 21:2–4, Aaron arrives in a city called Jerusalem (built by Lamanites, Amalekites, and Amulonites). These groups were "still harder" than regular Lamanites, actively causing others to "harden their hearts" against truth. The Amalekites & Amulonites were Nephite dissenters who rejected the gospel, adopted the order of Nehor (prideful, works-based beliefs denying need for Atonement). They became influencers of wickedness among Lamanites. Apostasy often hardens hearts more than ignorance. Aaron preaches Christ & His Atonement first to them in their synagogues. Aaron teaches redemption through Christ, but they mock & contend (Alma 21:10). An Amalekite challenges him aggressively. Here we see how hardened hearts resist truth that exposes pride and sin. They preferred self-reliant "worship" without a Savior (Alma 21:6). Aaron doesn't back down, he contends for the faith boldly. Hardened hearts are the toughest soil (Alma 21:12–13). Success often requires the Spirit's preparation or a humble seeker (like the king in Alma 22). Rejection isn't failure, faithfulness plants seeds. We all encounter "hardened hearts", online debates, family members, anyone who resist the gospel. Like Aaron, testify of Christ calmly and persistently. Don't contend in anger. Love and truth soften hearts over time. The Lord honors our effort, even when results are unseen. Aaron's persistence led to prison, then greater miracles. Hardened hearts test us, but enduring faithfully opens doors. #BookOfMormon
