NATO launched more than 10,000 air raids on Libya in 2011 with over 500,000 Civilian Casualties. When they were questioned about civilian Casualties they insisted that it was collateral damages and that it happens in wars.
The country that had one of the highest standard of living in the world at the time. They bombed the country back to stone age. Libya's 42 years of progress, stability and development was destroyed.

NATO’s new Protection of Civilians handbook stresses the need for “amends and post-harm assistance when civilians are harmed.”
Yet members can still evade public responsibility for specific events, a decade on from #Libya2011
Civilians deserve better.

A short visual history of #Libya2011
In February 2011, Libyans began rising up against dictator Muammar Gaddafi. His deadly repression led to open rebellion, @NATO's intervention 'to protect civilians', and Gaddafi's eventual death in Sirte on October 20th. Thousands died.
Our new public database on #Libya2011 - in Arabic and English - includes thousands of local media and social media sources, photographs, videos, and interactive maps. It offers the most comprehensive look yet at civilian harm from all belligerents in that short yet brutal war.

Our review found at least 223 civilians likely died in @NATO incidents of concern during #Libya2011 - including baby Arwa.
Shockingly, no member states or @NATO itself admit to any specific events or deaths a decade on. Survivors we spoke with say they deserve answers.

By far the worst casualties resulted from attacks by Gaddafi forces on civilians during #Libya2011 At least 860 civilians likely died in the events we reviewed - including in several major massacres in February and August.

@AnnTelnaes US/ Obama adm performed the most racist event in 21st century by supporting and calling heros to the Libyan REBELS #ff meanwhile they were HUNTING - as like in a safary - subsarian ppl. #libya2011
We remember it well. #Libya2011
I can see no security for African states unless African leaders, like ourselves, have realized beyond all doubt that salvation for Africa lies in unity... for in unity lies strength--📚 AFRICA MUST UNITE

The lack of political unity places inter-African economic institutions at the mercy of powerful, foreign commercial interests, and sooner or later these will use such institutions as funnels through which to pour money for the continued exploitation of Africa

#Gaddafi Address to his people We resisted the might of #America the power of #Britain and the nuclear Powers we resisted the might of #NATO we did not give up ...we were steadfast courageous here #Hero #revolutionary #war #Libya2011 #OnThisDayInHistory #DownWithUSA
