This just arrived. Of course it opened on this page! #LostChurches

Gallatown Church, Kirkcaldy became one of the #LostChurches in the 60s. Sad when a church is reduced to poetry, artefacts lost. Recording is as important now as ever! https://t.co/EwijrRJh0r

Appearing to be disused, there is the worry that this beautiful building, at Hope Park in Edinburgh, may become one of the #LostChurches

For those keen to find out more about Moray-Knox Church, you can find lots of wee tantalising glimpses of this Gothic building in many of the pre-1950s photographs of John Knox House, like the one belowπ#LostChurches

The Moray-Knox church once occupied the spot next to John Knox's house in the Royal Mile, Edinburgh. It was demolished in the 60s and few photographs remain. Another #LostChurch.

Newton Tower near Dalkeith is all that remains of another of Scotland's #LostChurches, the Newton Old Parish Church of St Mary.
Thousands pass it each day as they approach the Sheriffhall roundabout, how many know its long history?

This church near the Grassmarket was in danger of becoming one of Edinburgh's #LostChurches but the former Cowgatehead Free Church became a #RePurposedChurch instead!

Since it is #NationalWalkInTheParkDay might we suggest a look at St Anthony's Chapel in Holyrood Park? This possibly qualifies as belonging to #LostChurches !
A beautiful Edinburgh New Town church repurposed in the 90s after its contents dispersed. Lets try to record artefacts where we can! Looking like we will sadly see many more examples in coming months. #LostChurches

An article in the @edinburghpaper over the weekend about eight #LostChurches in the city that "are gone but not forgotten"

Here is another in our occasional series of #LostChurches. There are now flats on the site of this Edinburgh church. But where was it?

St Andrew's Church in Airth is another of Scotland's #LostChurches
Originally built by the Murrays of Dunmore as a family chapel, it became a @secsynod church in its own right. After falling into disuse it was eventually demolished in 1976.

Church to Mosque - quite unusual actually. This one was non-conformist and I don't believe any Anglican Parish Church in England has ever been converted to a mosque. Why not though?

Replaced in 1933 by a church moved brick by brick from Marylebone to Kingsbury; looked after by @TheCCT from. 1977-2012; now used as a Romanian Orthodox Church.
