St James', Pentonville was built in 1787-88 as the Pentonville Chapel. After its demolition in 1983, an office building was erected on the site and the churchyard became part of Joseph Grimaldi Park. #lostchurches
More on the events at East Horndon and once again thank you for all the support that continues to come in for the Friends of East Horndon @TheCCT https://t.co/vQxx7IrrOd
Church to Mosque - quite unusual actually. This one was non-conformist and I don't believe any Anglican Parish Church in England has ever been converted to a mosque. Why not though?

@HenryLong9 Actually, I forgot about that one. It escaped the 1968 Pastoral Measure which set the rules for contemporary church closure. I believe St Mark's is the only former Anglican parish church in London that is now a mosque.
St James', Chillingworth Rd, Holloway was built in 1837/8, badly bombed in WW2, used as a parish hall until 1980, and then converted to flats and studios. Anyone know why it's now named after St Mark? #lostchurches
The 'Old Church' of St Mary, Stoke Newington was built in 1563 to replace a previous one. In turn, a 'New Church' was built to replace it in 1852. We call these churches 'Renewals'. Some, like this, remain side byโฆ https://t.co/5omb1Un0k9
St David's, Holloway - the 1866-69 church was burnt down and rebuilt but in 1988 the church was 'closed'. An orthodox church used it until it was 'reopened' for Anglican use in 2004. #lostchurches @ Holloway Road N7 https://t.co/QNXOfAVBmh
St Andrew's, Plaistow was built in 1870 to designs by James Brookes, although the tower was never completed. It became "redundant" and was for many years home to an independent congregation before becoming a centreโฆ https://t.co/I0vK5xAHmv
Replaced in 1933 by a church moved brick by brick from Marylebone to Kingsbury; looked after by @TheCCT from. 1977-2012; now used as a Romanian Orthodox Church.

St Peter's, Birch in Essex, built in 1849-50 to designs by S. S. Teulon. It was closed in 1980 and ought, under legislation, to have been demolished by now. The CofE is still seeking a new use. Is it finally timeโฆ https://t.co/bkXGDBy1TC
@CemeteryClub A couple of those names you mentioned on the mass grave are listed as 'civilian dead' on the CWGC website...along with 68 other war dead buried there.๐ฅ
