This course proved the amount of synthesis, critical thinking/slow thinking, and digital literacy that has been lacking on our own educations. I hope we all consider implementing these skills into our future careers so we can impact others’ access to these #LS461CritReflect https://t.co/s9n8NwEiMA
Working on Threshold concepts for the course and your critical reflection videos. Which of these do you think impacted you the most and why? #LS461CritReflect

Despite the fact that I love my amazon audible app, nook, and audio book cds for the car rides, and any new technology that replaces physical books, nothing will ever beat the book store #LS461CritReflect #savebooks

What impacted me the most in this course is the fast & slow thinking. Most of the time I didn’t seem to look at what I was saying or typing just to try & get my point across now I know it’s better to stop&think critically not just in twitter but in life as well #LS461CritReflect
24 hours left to share #LS461CritReflect for class points!!! I learned I need to practice complex communication more, and ideation. I need to embrace my ideas and concepts 💁🏻🙋🏻
@SMVliberalstudy @laura_lopez_23 We were using our fast thinking from what we've learned in other classes but after a few weeks we realized that it's important to know disciplinary concepts and how to write a synthesis paper so that we can apply this method in the future #LS461CritReflect
@laura_lopez_23 I was on the same boat as you when we started the quarter. It all seemed so complex but now I feel like a have a clear sense of what the class is about. By learning and doing what we we learned about #LS461CritReflect
@sarahbattles07 @MattMo711 @anavera2017 Here's the role of science in society. Recent studies published on these exact Qs. Here is an informational text: https://t.co/K3ZYrhCgz6 Use your degree to expand your knowledge beyond college to stay informed for decision making after graduation and for life. #LS461CritReflect
@laura_lopez_23 @drcr461 Yes, it wasn't until the synthesis exercise we did in class that i understood the meaning of synthesis. The disciplines under the humanities, natural science and social science is equally as important to apply to future liberal studies courses .#LS461CritReflect
@Lisigurl @SMVliberalstudy Its because of what we talked about in our chapter of the importance of ideation, pattern recognition, and complex communication that assure us that computers will never be capable of having natural human senses. however, never say never right. #ls461CritReflect
@drcr461 Synthesis was the most impactful concept for me. It gave me a new perspective on how to write papers on different disciplines and from these theories I extrapolated a solution. It allowed me to think out of the box instead of a typical research paper. #LS461CritReflect
@Lisigurl @lorena_pinal @MattMo711 @anavera2017 @drcr461 @Lisigurl also feeding off your question, as a parent how interactive are you on their profiles, and are you constantly checking up on them? #LS461CritReflect #LS461SMAchp12
@drcr461 As a professor instructing the course, what was your overall impression of your experience this quarter with us as students? what impact has it had on you as an instructor? Would you do anything different if you were to teach this same course again? #LS461CritReflect

@laura_lopez_23 @laura_lopez_23 great show of resilience, perseverance. Both important skills to life and learning. Learning can be hard, as we know through slow thinking. When we have to short cut our fast thinking response to slow down and analyze and evaluate. #LS461CritReflect
@SMVliberalstudy @Lita_Miriam Yes! Deeply, too. Knowing how humans feel, think about issues through disciplines in humanities, learning abt large patterns of human behavior, thought through social science and effects on humans and the world around is a powerful way 2 see into, around issues. #LS461CritReflect
@MattMo711 @drcr461 Awe first congratulations! :) I have a baby myself and I hate having him look at tv but his dr actually suggested that i have him look at cartoons because it promotes social interactions and helps in children's language development #LS461CritReflect
@drcr461 Learning about the importance of digital literacy and how we need to keep up with technology and also the importance of disciplinary concepts and theories. I have a class called synthesis 1 but didn't understand what synthesis was until now. #LS461CritReflect
@lorena_pinal @drcr461 This is a great life example @lorena_pinal. I remember when I help tutor kids in Oho with learning disabilities we were constantly using iPads and other tablets to help stimulate the brain get students to understand material that was being taught. #LS461CritReflect
@drcr461 When I taught dyslexic 2nd lang. learners to read I used interdisciplinary thinking and Digtl. Ltrcy. Using an IPad & manipulative tiles. I understood the challenges, limitations & deficits of these student's. The method stimulate multiple areas of the brain #LS461CritReflect
@drcr461 I think the complexity and often duality of humans regarding tech and society has impacted me most. This class has proven that when viewing both pros and cons unbiasedly, it is easy to conclude that tech and it’s value is dependent on who is using it and how. #LS461CritReflect
