Missed the @LSI_Journal panel at #LSADC19, and curious about the future of the journal? Read the discussion recap from Publisher Rebecca O'Rourke! https://t.co/lwIQotNjiZ

Did you know that @LSI_Journal makes some of their articles automatically open access?? I learned that at #LSADC19. Guess what? My 2018 article on 19th C #prison administrators' early professionalization efforts is available! https://t.co/NVUSsLU11H
At #LSADC19, we had an exciting roundtable with Tony Platt, @juvyjustchange, @KerametR, and in spirit @elizabhinton about the role of history in the study of carceral spaces and systems. I've been wrestling with id'ing the role of historical knowledge in the present, so here:
I am trying to identify why it bothers me so much when people (eg., @voxdotcom) attribute solitary confinement to the Quakers--beyond just that it's inaccurate (which really bothers me). So I'm going to try to marshal my thoughts. #THREAD /1

@UBSchoolofLaw faculty member David Engel discussed his work at the "Nobody's Law: Legal Consciousness and Legal Alienation in Everyday Life" panel. @anyabernstein participated on a panel that asked: "What's Law Got To Do With It?" #LSA2019 #LSADC19
The #LSADC19 was great: I attended panels in criminal justice, legal feminism, professional development; presented my work (my partner saw me for the first time!) and met awesome colleagues from all over the world. I even got a few cups of free coffee! Inspired and thankful 🙏
Learned a lot at #LSADC19, especially from the two other presenters in my panel. Great meeting you, @AnthroHaley! @law_soc

Muy feliz de haber participado del #LSADC19 con una aproximación a mi investigación sobre "género y prisiones". Gracias @fanoavila @Jimeteran87 y Santi Mollis!.

Thank you, #LSADC19 @law_soc for an amazing & inspiring conference with exciting papers and lots of supportive collegiality. @IntlLawPolitics #CRN23 is a terrific crowd. I think I’ve even found a collaborator for a research grant.
(Now resting my tired feet at the airport.)

Enjoyed so much a few of the great @smithsonian museums while in town for #LSADC19. Picture from the @SmithsonianNMAI: oral speech vs written words...The Native American culture is so rich and important. Last summer in NM and AZ truly was mesmerizing in this regard.

This weekend I presented my work on the opioid epidemic at the Law and Society meeting #LSADC19
