1️⃣Multicystic Dysplastic Kidney (#MCDK)
📍Rare, affects 1 in 4,300 fetuses
📍 characterized by non-communicating renal cysts and is classified in a group of congenital disorders termed congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT).
📍 Caused by pathogenic variations of certain genes, such as TCF2 and PAX2 and mutations involving uroplakins.
📍 MCDK morphogenesis can range from cystic formations to hydronephrotic changes
📍Bilateral MCDK is often associated with a congenital cause, whereas unilateral is sporadic.
