#MCPchat A3: there is a science to learning. Things that evidence says works best. Processes on how cognition works.
Having a framework that consistently incorporates these elements is key.

A5: @NaomiHilmas and I have been teaching together for 5 years now. We are so in sync that we can often finish each other's half-spoken, partially gestured ideas. π #MCPchat
Thatβs all for #MCPchat, everyone! Thanks for taking the time to join in and a huge thank you to this month's host, Steve Schlarman aka @MrSchlarman_FZN. π Weβll see you Wednesday, February 28, for our next chat!

A4: My Drive, @Screencastify / YouTube channel and @nearpod are filled and (mostly) organized with so much content that is student friendly. #mcpchat
#MCPchat Q4: How do you leverage tools to enhance planning efficiency when dealing with multiple classes?

#MCPchat A4: Make tech work for YOU
My school uses @Schoology as our LMS and @GoogleForEdu
Here's how I think about the tools I use: https://t.co/MHpErdjoXM
#MCPchat A3: One step at a time
1. Identify what will have the most impact and start there.
2. Find your flow to identify patterns and design templates.
3. Front-loading takes time but is worth it!
#mcpchat A4: ChatGPT has become my bestie. It's really good for writing Mastery Checks! It get's my language and standards (and y'all, my standards are weird!)... try it out, seriously!
#MCPchat A2: Find your Flow
Designing templates makes it significantly easier to copy/paste and make minor modifications.
Programming and AP CSA samples below
@Schoology is our LMS

A2: As an elem teacher, work with your team to divide and conquer the lesson planning, if possible. This requires trust within the team, but it can make a huge difference in teacher stress and work levels. #MCPchat
#MCPchat Q2: What strategies do you recommend to streamline lesson planning when juggling multiple classes with diverse learning needs?

#MCPchat A3: Let your students help - my ahead-of-pace students prep labs for me when possible! Then, focus on activities that you know will engage learners and boost understanding. They deserve your time more - everything else can be less than great as long as those few rock!
A1: I start with the big picture, aligning standards and desired end results, usually in the form of a UbD planner. Then I plan out my weeks in a simple spreadsheet that I can link things to & I use a daily slide to keep everything linked and together. #MCPchat

A2: each prep gets a diff dedicated day, and the preps that are relatively lighter loads could be combined into one day, so there's a catch-up/look-ahead day to plan and prep. #mcpchat
#MCPchat Q2: What strategies do you recommend to streamline lesson planning when juggling multiple classes with diverse learning needs?
Remember to tweet instead of comment and use the hashtag to follow the thread π

#MCPchat A1: I discovered my rhythm for learning and designed a template that I copy/paste for every learning experience: https://t.co/v606wiIqfS
#MCPchat A2: First, be patient with yourself - not everything has to be done at once. Second, give yourself checkpoints throughout the day to recap what you accomplished so far, and what still needs to be done before leaving. Doing this has helped me leave work at work!
Peace πͺ·

π§ Icebreaker Question: What is your word of the year? #MCPchat
Your host for this Twitter chat is @MrSchlarman_FZN β¨

A1 I start on paper, with my calendar. Decide unit deadline dates based on the year. Fill in summatives, then formatives & learning activities, working backwards. #mcpchat
#MCPchat A1: I have four courses to prep - its a lot! Generally, I choose to focus on only one course per day. It helps me focus on high priority items. However, I also use a Must Do, Should Do, Aspire to Do task list. (A student taught me that one!)
Reconnect! Last year was a very challenging year for me professionally, and I want to reconnect with myself, my passions, my reasons, my gifts as a teacher. Also reconnect with myself since becoming a mom almost 5 years ago. Itβs time! #MCPchat
