Reoccurring theme at #memorymakers18 is that lecture style knowledge transfer doesn't facilitate learning very well on its own. Having hands on exercises & projects which firmly places #digipres in the context of people's own orgs & collections is consistently more successful

"many organisations with large AV collections only have 1 person working on them, often only volunteers. this makes training even more important" says Jasper Snoeren from @BeeldenGeluid at #memorymakers18
"it helps to have (in-house) knowledge cafes at the end of the work day, when people are done or tired of meetings - and it also helps to have drinks afterwards" - it's all about carrot and sticks, even with in-house training :-D #memorymakers18

There was a very clear case for improved documentation for Kryoflux which was not developed for use by archivists. They asked for feedback on the manual and I can say it is excellent! #memorymakers18
