Well, the Commerce and Human Resources Committee SKIPPED my testimony in support of SB-1296. the #Bitcoin protection act. Wonder Why? Here's my testimony: Mr. Chairman, Honorable Senators, I would like to express my unwavering support for SB-1296. Idaho was built by mining of precious metals, and if you pass this bill, we could be on the forefront of mining the world's hardest money, Bitcoin. Over 64% of Kootenai county, where I live, moved to Idaho to get away from the craziness and violence that has been brought about in this country, one way or another, by both the unlimited printing of fiat money, and usury. Bitcoin can help us escape this from happening in Idaho. In the past 111 years, we have seen the U.S. dollar debase de-value, losing almost 99% of its purchasing power. This gold coin, which was minted in 1914, one year after the Federal Reserve was created was worth $20.67. It is now worth over $2,000 in 2024 that’s over a 1,000% increase. This is because Gold was replaced by FIAT paper, which has allowed the Federal Reserve to enact a programme of devaluation that has cheated the citizens of the United States, especially younger generations, out of fair wages. This debasement of the currency is a form of theft from the laborer, who trades his time for something of value. Today everyone has effectively been turned into a slave that needs to labor for the state, instead of their families - So that we pay off what is now over 31 Trillion dollars of debt that our Government Washington D.C. owes to the Federal Reserve. Bitcoin, has a fixed supply of 21 Million coins, means that no corporation or government can inflate or devalue this currency. As Idahoans, we pride ourself in fiscal responsibility, and Bitcoin gives us the ability to take control of our own destiny, and custody our own Bitcoin, without fear that the government will confiscate it from us. To quote former President Barrack Obama, Bitcoin is "like having a Swiss bank account in your pocket." The Former president isn't very happy about the fact that the Federal Government cannot hack or control Bitcoin when users take it into self custody, which this bill protects. With Bitcoin, Idahoans won't need to worry about being "de-banked" because of their politics (whether left-wing or right-wing), and it will allow the poor and minority populations to achieve financial freedom as the dollar continues to debase through uncontrolled printing. Since money is also considered "speech" according to the Supreme Court's ruling on the Citizens United case, the ability to store and spend your own Bitcoin should be considered a First Amendment human right. This legislation will also roll out the welcome mat for Mining companies who could take advantage of Idaho’s renewable energy such as hydroelectric dams, and could even generate some action in the field of nuclear power, as Bitcoin miners can be used in conjunction with nuclear power to replace fossil fuels and coal to meet spikes in grid demand. With the help of Bitcoin, Idaho can become the most financially secure State in the Union. Please pass this bill. @HerndonforIdaho @brian_lenney @Dennis_Porter_
