Yup,
I warned about this a long time ago. I call it charting (mapping the social interactions) but it's basically #weaponizing all the insights of #NetworkTheory
Right now they are studying or charting, at their leisure, all the pockets of resistance

The strength of most networks lies in the weakest links. For me:

These books helped me understand almost everything that I need to know about the world — it’s how I navigate life. It’s how I figured out how Google works around 2002. It’s how I understood immediately what all the social media algorithms are trying to do.
If you want casual reading, 4 is good for social media in general, but I recommend 1+2 if you want to know the working theories. 3 is about decentralized networks. Very relevant — it would explain why I prefer flat organizations (leaderless cooperation and collaboration).
And people are more than willing to help or give me a chance.

It’s not that I can’t function. I basically need my living and working space to provide functionality.

Theory in Action: October 29, 1969's ARPANET Transmission Ignites Theories Defining Our Digital Era! 🌐💡 #NetworkTheory #InformationAge #History #theory
On October 29, 1969, a significant leap in the realm of digital communication took place: the first electronic message was transmitted over the ARPANET. Envisioned by the Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) of the U.S. Department of Defense, the ARPANET was the precursor to today's internet. While this initial transmission from the University of California, Los Angeles to the Stanford Research Institute was modest—a system crash meant only two letters of the intended "LOGIN" command were sent—it marked the beginning of a new era in global communication.
This pioneering effort in networking birthed the foundational principles of Network Theory. By analyzing the ways in which nodes (or points) in a network connect and communicate, researchers could understand the dynamics of vast systems, from social networks to the vast web of internet connections. The idea that any two points in a network can be connected through a limited number of links, often summarized as "six degrees of separation," became a popular notion, symbolizing the interconnectedness of our world.
The ARPANET's evolution and the subsequent rise of the internet also intensified focus on Information Theory. Introduced by Claude Shannon, this groundbreaking concept seeks to quantify information. By understanding the nature of digital communication, from the way messages are encoded to their transmission and eventual decoding, Information Theory paved the way for the efficient digital communication systems we rely on today.
Meanwhile, as digital networks expanded and became more intricate, Cybernetics emerged as an essential interdisciplinary theory. Founded by Norbert Wiener, Cybernetics delves deep into the study of systems, be they biological, mechanical, or digital. By understanding feedback loops, control mechanisms, and system behaviors, Cybernetics offers insights into the ways digital networks, like the internet, operate and evolve.
The growth of the internet also ushered in the era of Hypermedia. This nonlinear method of human-computer interaction allows any piece of text, image, or audio to be interconnected. Websites became a tapestry of links, offering users an interactive and dynamic experience, rather than a static one. The user's ability to navigate, explore, and create pathways across digital content reflects the core of Hypermedia theory.
In sum, that modest message sent in 1969 over the ARPANET did more than just establish a new mode of communication; it laid the foundation for a plethora of theories and concepts that would come to define the digital age.
