As today is #worldtheatreday I would like to pay tribute to these excellent plays I’ve seen recently: #NTJohn #NTBeginning and #BarbershopChronicles at @NationalTheatre, #TheBrothersSize at @youngvictheatre. Excited to see Julius Caesar at @_bridgetheatre soon. Know I’m v lucky.

This week I saw @HamiltonMusical, #ntJohn, and #SummerAndSmoke - all incredible but the best thing about any of them was @PatsyFerran @AlmeidaTheatre - unbelievably believable (and an all round beautiful production - go see go see)

#NTJohn was suuuuuuuuuperb. Three hours honestly whizzed by. Could have watched it again straight away - it’s so rich in detail. The theatre equivalent of sitting in a window and joyfully watching the world go by.
I salute you, @AnnieNBaker - such seamless, unapologetic, weird, wonderful, inviting writing, and with such compassion for its characters. Yes. (Finally saw #NTJohn...)

Enjoyed #ntJohn last night. Thoughtful reviews subsequently helped me get more substance from it. You could easily do it in half the running time, but then it wouldn’t be “it”. MaryLouise Burke particularly brilliant.
Adored slipping into the world of @AnnieNBaker's #ntJohn Sublime pace, mesmerising characters & baffled laughs aplenty. I could spend many days in Paris, Gettysburg. A sequel for Mertis/Kitty, please! @NationalTheatre
