Another crash on Renaud!Repairs to damage from last week’s crash not even done-this happens almost weekly rain or shine, right into the sensitive creeks/agricultural land that @tobi_nussbaum and @NCC_CCN want so desperately to protect. #option7 @catherinekitts @ottawacity
Wish I had a nickel for every time an “urbanite” blames my family for living 12km outside core for transit woes. Not everyone can afford to live downtown, nor do all ppl in family work downtown. South Orleans gets the short end of stick for every decision at @ottawacity #option7
It can take 75 minutes to get downtown from the east end on a good day. #ottcity's new transportation plan must not leave South Orléans behind, writes @catherinekitts @OttawaCitizen #ottnews https://t.co/Q7XTdgS6vg
@ryanwright @ShawnMenard1 You are among 1000’s who travel from Orleans to points S and E of Bank street who rely on Renaud/Anderson/WhiteSide Road, etc. It’s a ridiculous scenario, using roads NOT BUILT for commuters of that #-And NO no bus-no LRT can fix that-an alternate route is needed. #option7
@loriastinson YOU have come to the conclusion? So you know more than the environmental engineers, the ecologists and researchers hired to do a massive study with more than 32 criterion? You know more than all of the experts because you are a professor? That’s rich. #option7, @_MarkSutcliffe
@ctvottawa @grahamctv But Graham fails to address the Brian Coburn Option 7 in his reporting- which would provide essential cycling and transit link-a link that McKenney opposes. #option7
@_MarkSutcliffe
@VickyVerizon @DvdHam @HorizonOttawa NCC Data? There is none! They object based on knee jerk reaction and plain mean spirited stubbornness-the studies are clear-they have even been offered 67 hectares of land by the city in a land swap. Not to mention, some of this land is PRIVATELY OWNED, and owner wants #option7 !
@StephenBlais So the “build safe cycling”mayoral candidate failed to show their face in “east” Ottawa, in fact reneged on a much advertised canvas launch at Tulip park with 0 apologies or explanation and now won’t support #option7 which provides safe cycling and rapid transit to LRT?
@cmckenney Not sure how you will get here. By car?No turning left from Navan Rd onto Renaud & can’t cross Navan to access Renaud. By bike? Bring an extra comfy seat bc there are miles of potholes and gravel shoulders bc there is no bike lane or sidewalks. Oh yeah, no transit either #option7
“Well connected city”??Pretty much impossible given the city has allowed rampant development in Orleans South, provided no connections to LRT, no reliable transit, no safe cycling routes, reneged on Cumberland Rapid Transit and road widening, all on the books for years.#option7
@cmckenney It’s too bad you don’t support infrastructure in Orleans like extending Brian Coburn to Anderson for transit, cycling and commuters. Failure to to do so will mean 0 support for you as mayor by all of Orleans South or living east of Mer Bleue #option7
She would find that bike ride along Anderson, Renaud, Navan to be truly impossible, due traffic, grown over, soft shoulders and endless construction. Doubt she took the bus/LRT as those “connections” she boasts about don’t exist in any reliable or efficient manner. #option7
When the 174 is closed all of Orleans looks for alternate ways to get in /out of east end. Renaud is it-a rural 2 lane route! We need an alternate route-Option7-to accommodate the needs of this growing area in Ottawa. @mflalonde @catherinekitts @Laura_Dudas @StephenBlais #option7
And this too is ok-roads are still not quite at tipping point??? #option7 @TimTierney @catherinekitts @Laura_Dudas @glengower @JLeiper @RiverWardRiley @LeeAnnSnedden
An oldie but a goodie. The Brian Coburn extension does not cut through the Mer Bleue bog and in fact creates a wider buffer than the currently overused farm road Renaud Road. #Option7
@JimFacette The option 7 to extend BCB to connect to Renaud Rd and the Innes-Walkley extension and run the BRT in parallel to connect to LRT station at Blair. Lowest impact on the greenbelt, fewer trees lost, least expensive and minimizes community cut through traffic.
The most important transportation project in South Orleans. https://t.co/9vCfVr3Llt Tonight, 5:30PM, 3349 Navan Road. #option7
