Our research on #Somatostatin -expressing neuron population in mouse Ventral Tegmental area (#VTA) has been just published in #eLife journal. With help of #electrophysiology, #PatchSeq, #RNAscope and #optogenetics we have described this population as fully as we could.
9/12 Two more things: Lots of data on other cell types. One challenge for electrophysiologists is challenge is the identification of non-beta-cel types. We show #patchseq can help refine models to better identify glucagon-secreting alpha-cells based on their e-phys.

7/12 In type 2 diabetes (T2D), beta-cells are impaired. Studies have reported altered single-cell gene expression, but it’s hard to know which are important. #patchseq can help with this by simultaneously studying changes in expression and function…
