But we oppose the excess draw. Why? The only thing worse than further damaging current #AKfams & the #AKecon (which is what #PFDcuts do) is to damage future #AKgens instead. By reducing the investment base, that's exactly what an excess ERA draw does. #akleg 2/n

We take pleas for restored$$ b/c of the "vulnerable" w/ a grain of salt if the group doesn't also support full PFDs. #PFDcuts hugely undercut low income #AKfams & ⬆ poverty. If groups don't = value that, they are just special pleading for themselves, not the "vulnerable". #akleg

Ready for realpolitik? The #akleg has near 0 interest in major spending ⬇️. The REAL battle is #WhoPays. So, while others are diverted on spending, the Top20% is working to preempt #WhoPays by narrowing the talk to #PFDcuts. Why? Under that option they pay the least. #akleg

Hypocrisy, this. Many of the #akleg (& others) who are most loudly complaining about the effect of spending cuts on the #AKecon & #AKfams then turn right around & support #PFDcuts, which have the "largest adverse impact" of all of the various rev options on the #AKecon & #AKfams.

Some claim past past #PFDcuts remain in the ERA and, thus, should be distributed now. That's naive. Past #PFDcuts worked to offset deep #CBR draws to limit calls on total fiscal reserves. Rebating past #PFDcuts now, w/o offsetting new revs, exacerbates future fiscal probs. #akleg
