Yes. Candidates who think they might require assessment accommodations should advise the person responsible for the job opportunity. #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
.@GuillCharest @PSCofCanada Too early to tell. Stay tuned for the pilot results. #SLEPilot #PSABPilot
Managers need an adequate sample of the candidate speaking to provide an accurate rating. The exact length will depend on a number of factors. On average, this process should take 10-20 minutes to complete. #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
#PSABpilot is one of the recommendations in the report to the Clerk https://t.co/HV9P6RuBl8 Moving forward in support of linguistic duality in the PS! @PSCofCanada @MattMendel
No. The SLE-TOP will continue to be available to hiring managers, even if the PSA-B is fully implemented. These are complementary assessment methods aimed at offering more flexibility to hiring managers. #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
.@carolecmyers @PSCofCanada Following the assessment, managers share a recording of assessment with PSC language experts, who do their own rating anonymously for study purposes. Managers will also complete questionnaires to aid in evaluating the success of the #PSABpilot.
.@carolecmyers @PSCofCanada 2/2 . The manager (or selection board) observes the candidate’s ability to speak in their second language and assesses the candidate’s performance against TBS’s Qualification Standard for Level B. #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
.@carolecmyers @PSCofCanada 1 of 2: Managers decide on their assessment approach and who will be involved in conducting the assessment while respecting certain criteria established by the PSC. #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
@GuillCharest @PSCofCanada Yes to some extent and we are interested in having conversations with departments to discuss fit. #PSABPilot #SLEPilot
Second-language testing is one of many factors that contributes to time to staff. Giving managers more flexibility could help them find more efficient strategies. For example, they could eliminate the time required to schedule language testing with the PSC. #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
The PSA-B is an alternative approach to second language evaluation aimed at improving time to staff. Departments participating in the pilot can use it to staff bilingual positions requiring B level oral proficiency only. #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
3, 2, 1, GO! We are now ready to start our Twitter chat on the new Position-Specific Assessment for Oral Proficiency at the B level. What would you like to know? #PSABpilot #SLEpilot
Less than ten minutes before our #Twitterchat begins. Don’t forget to use #PSABpilot to ask your questions.
