@CBCAlerts #RaceBasedData collection policies should extend to technology based collection of data by TPS & all other agencies mandated to collect race based data. Most of the race based data collection policies are being applied to physical in person interactions. Tip of the data iceberg

More thoughts not captured in article: #RaceBasedData is important to avoid inaccurate generalizing on notions of ethnicity that is problematic if not oppressive. For example, Winnipeg School Division uses "Canadian" when it can be many things eh!? 5/9

Based on my research, of COVID-related workplace deaths where race was released, 72.3% of the workers who died were racialized. It's 71.6% when you tease out healthcare workers alone. Re-crunching numbers and it's just so stunning to see this.
