also they use big words on their own “open access” journals to show off how they (think they) are “smart” & claim the ownership of knowledge while abusing poor grad students behind the closed door.

Academia does not want to share knowledge with the general public because that would erode their elitism (hence articles behind paywalls, using big words that could be said in simpler terms, not rewarding and even punishing folks for doing public scholarship).
I received these emails too and am a bit perplexed as to why these were leaked.
