One of our grad students applied for a postdoc at Harvard. They wanted 5 letters from every single applicant in the first round. 200+ applicants? 1000+ letters? And who on earth would read them? A colossal and stressful waste of time for the applicants.

You must not be stuck in how you have done things. You must learn to separate your values from your strategy. Values are eternal, strategy should be flexible. Your values should guide your strategy not stifle it. #rethinktheprocess.
