AIMS field techs carried out routine servicing of the Davies Reef weather stations last week from #RVSolander. Our network of in-water stations are the only in-situ real-time #ocean and #weather data available the #GreatBarrierReef.

What a great finish to 2019 and start to 2020 taking this capability to the far northern and southern sectors of the #GBR onboard the #RVSolander. I foresee many more field trips utilising this tool. Bring it on :)

I don't think this land-lubber has ever been this far from shore but the search for #1KCoralGenomes has so far taken me to some amazing places on the #GBR onboard the #RVSolander.

These instruments have been collecting oceanographic data near #Nhulunbuy, NT. They were recently retrieved by staff on #RVSolander then redeployed with 2 additional moorings.👍

A vibrocorer retrieved onto the #RVSolander from waters near #Gove during routine monitoring. The 6m instrument, used to collect sediments from the seabed, was carefully manoeuvred from the stern through the frame into the water 19 times over 2 days.
