#SaveDatu
saw this in pinterest then i started laughing but then i just had the biggest cry because him being in the faceless would've been better than whatever happened with him on the finals 💔🥀
—more inconsistent characterization of what was pre established.
Even if I did want Jaetu as endgame, Datu actually being written and characterized with respect will always be fathoms more important to me and many others.
That’s why #savedatu exists.
#savedatu I made a tag because I genuinely don’t want him to end up as just another example of these tropes and rhetorics, and I don’t want him to be forgotten, or arguably worse, be given the Jet treatment. The ONLY way Jae or Jaetu is even in this equation is that it was—
Hi. I’m who made the #savedatu tag. The reason why it even exists is not because of Jae and Datu. Rather it’s because people don’t want one of the first openly mlm characters in avatar to just be disposed of and made another example of colorist and racist tropes in fiction.—
Why are Datu fans all of a sudden using a tag to get Jae back together with Datu???
That is disgusting. Datu is a horrible person and you want Jae to be in a toxic relationship with him??? AGAIN???
What season final? Everything worked out perfectly ☺️☺️ #jaetu #savedatu #Avatarsevenhavens #jae #datu
I don't believe it's who he really is because while it wasn't much, we did actually get some POV from Datu.
>He's happy to help citizens
>Isn't afraid of showing his love for Jae despite the conflict with the bending brigage
>Has shown he has a conscious and remorse over and over
#savedatu if they can then datu can too
@akinipslip idk why they did him SO dirty, he was awfully mischaracterized, and if it is just to make ppl hate him and justify jaetu breaking up, it's disgusting
