Squid Game Mark II for professional staff at my own university, @Macquarie_Uni has begun. More than 300 positions terminated while senior executives are cocooned from cuts. They now have to fight each other for new positions. But we are fighting back 1/7 #savehigheredjobs

No universities have yet taken the initiative to publicise this (number of casual employees) data annually, seemingly because such transparency would shed unwanted light on the true nature of their employment practices. #savehigheredjobs

Also, @ourANU likely to receive a good share of $1B additional research money in the budget. But no figure on that yet; won't know what it does to #SaveHigherEdJobs for some time I think. Assumed passing of #HigherEd bill does give certainty. That means plans can be locked in.
