Using a whiteboard car for commercial purposes is illegal. Period!
However, sharing rides with like minded individuals and bearing a part of the fuel/maintenance is not commercial! It rather reduces traffic on the already horrible roads of Bengaluru. #saveCarpool

Vehicular population has increased by 6,000% since 1990, making Bengaluru, a city with highest vehicle density that commutes at 15kmph.
A ban on car-pooling only encourages congestion, the last thing people of Bengaluru would want to experience.
Karnataka Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 are outdated & insufficient to meet the needs of present day.
Penalizing citing rules will only add to the mobility crisis in the city.
Karnataka Govt should prioritize 'Quality of Life' over outdated rules & encourage innovation among ridesharing apps to decongest the city.
I have written a letter urging the transport department to reconsider this ban ๐

Car pooling is helping so many people in Bangalore to their valuable time and money. Sharing a ride itโs not commercial itโs one of the solution for traffic, requesting @tdkarnataka @siddaramaiah to reconsider their decision.
