This handsome 2-year-old Black/Tan German Shepherd blend has been at the shelter for 16 days. Leo arrived after being picked up by Animal Control and was initially unable to stand (possible nerve trauma). He has made progress and is now walking well on leash, eating, and showing sociability with handlers β greeting with a loose body and wagging tail. Heβs easy to leash and walk outside, and he clearly enjoys affection. πΆβ€οΈ
Because of his medical history, Leo has had limited dog-to-dog interaction so far. He would do best in a calm, patient home (ideally with medical foster experience) that can continue supporting his recovery and give him time to fully heal. This sweet boy has already shown how resilient he is β he just needs someone willing to help him finish his journey to a full, happy life.

He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. For a New Family to Know: Leo is described as a couch potato, affectionate, and prefers contact on his own terms. He would spend most time in the bathroom sink. Leo likes to chase and pounce on toys. He would rarely get interactive playtime. Leo enjoys scratching on carpet and fabric. He was fed dry food. Leo loved when the older kids in the home would baby him, like scratching his belly and carrying him around. He is known to like water and join the kids baths at times. β€οΈ π»β€οΈ π»β€οΈ π»
