Today, our ED, Erin Kelly, joined impassioned family members & advocates at the @FamilyVoicesCA summit to discuss the California Children’s Services Program & Whole-Child Model. She gave an overview of our co-sponsored bill #SB424 by @SenMariaEDurazo, the CCS Modernization Act.
The purpose of the bills #HB111/#SB424 are to grant autonomous practice for certain APRNs, while HB607 is for work delegation to CNAs. Evidence shows that NPs can address the issue of primary care shortages and decrease costs of care on a state and national level. #NUR4108RB #W5
HB607 was passed to allow RNs delegation of medication administration to HHAs & CNAs. #HB111 & #SB424 both aim to expand the autonomy of ARNPs. The evidence suggests ARNPs can improve continuity of care and reduce healthcare costs. #NUR4108BR #W5
#nur4108LC #w6 The main purpose of bills #HB111 and #SB424 are to allow nurse practitioners to expand their scope of practice to be independent; not needing to practice under an MD. These bills would increase patient healthcare access, as backed by evidence.
