#SBIManager #LanguageRow #Kannada #Bengaluru is a welcoming city that has bank staff from across India who speak Kannada fluently. This incident could’ve been handled better without media hype.Despite such incidents #Karnataka will continue to remain warm & hospitable to all!
This behaviour by @TheOfficialSBI Branch Manager is simply not acceptable.
If you are doing customer interface work in Karnataka, especially in a sector like banking , it is important to communicate to customers in the language they know. Being adamant like this is simply not right.
I have time and again raised this issue of mandatorily posting local staff or staff who know the local language in banking operations, both inside and outside Parliament.
Just a few weeks ago, at a Public Accounts Committee meeting, I had raised this issue to the DFS Secretary who assured me action will be taken to follow a office notification that makes this requirement of local language knowledge compulsory.
Looks like this still isn’t being enforced properly. I urge the concerned at @TheOfficialSBI to immediately implement the DFS policy that mandates local language requirement.
I have spoken to concerned authorities to take action against this manager who has behaved in this manner.
Banks working in Karnataka should serve customers in Kannada. Period.

I might be opening myself to a lot of hate here, but give this a thought? Is it actually an insult to #Kannada or arrogance and hubris at work? My take in @IndiaToday #Opinion #Karnataka #karnatakaJobsForKannadigas #SBIManager @SonuNigamForum

If I have to live and work in Bihar, then I will either learn Hindi or their local language. Learning local language makes my life simple in new place, get connection with local ppl.
I wouldn't complain about learning new langauge.

I met many North Indians who told me Hindi is a National language. When I countered with facts, they justify saying Hindi can be a national language.
Ignorance and entitlement causing angst among non Hindi speakers.

Why do such issues not happen in private banks? So do you understand where the problem is?

Destroyer.
She shattered the entire facade of language hypocrisy in a single moment.
When a language fanatic confronts you—be like her. Show them the mirror.

I went to a Karnataka employee of erstwhile“Bank of Mysore” now SBI and spoke in Maithili in Patna for opening an account .He quickly understood my point & said this regionalism will destroy our social fabric and we r repeating history! #Karnataka #SBIManager
Language is for communication and not for imposing....spread love not hatred 🙏❤️✨️

Recently SBI manager in Chandapura unfairly targeted for not speaking Kannada. India’s diversity means we can’t force one language—Hindi & English are official too.
Let’s respect all tongues & unite, not vilify!🇮🇳

@CheKrishnaCk_ Hindugalige irodu onde desha #Bharatha so elru #Hindu gale sarvabhoumaru 👍👍 preaching secularism when it comes to #Hindus and Nativity when it comes to region is nothing but a radical Mindset 👍👍
I agree it was a very rude behaviour by #SBIManager, she could have avoided it
Did not visit local #SBI branch, because me and the #SBIManager both knew Hindi and Marathi. No scope of kalesh.
