‘In the #history of #music - a 1st of its kind to show that two different cultures are not different after all’ paraphrasing the Maestro
For #Ilaiyaraaja music is much bigger or simpler than semantics like fusion etc
It’s harmonious coexistence

Mohanlal - Rehman
Fahad Fasil - Shakthi
Indian Army ‘neglects’ Rahman who is an Army officer. Despite hardships he faced by Indian Army, he still teams up with Daniel to take on villain and evil force called Shakthi.

Anti Hindu Propaganda
Anti Govt Propaganda
Anti Indian Army Propaganda
If we highlight this, Hindus will say ‘watch movie as movie’. Don’t bring religion and politics into movies.
Makers can make movies with anti-Hindu and anti India propaganda, but we must watch movie as movie.🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

The connection b/w the South Indian Murukku (that crunchy, coiled, savory snack we all love) & the ancient medical treatise of the Sushruta Samhita is 1 of the most brilliant, hidden examples of how ancient Indian snack food was originally engineered as preventative medicine.
When people think of the Sushruta Samhita, they immediately think of plastic surgery, rhinoplasty & complex surgical tools. But Sushruta was a holistic genius. He knew that the ultimate goal of medicine was to ensure a patient never needed surgery in the 1st place.
Volume 1 (Sutra Sthana, Chapter 46) contains an entire, massive section dedicated to Ahara-tattva (the nutritional science of food). And this is where the fascinating origin story of the Murukku begins.
In the Sushruta Samhita, Sushruta categorizes deep-fried pastry items under the broad family of Bhakshyas (cooked, chewable foods). Among them, he singles out a distinct item called Śaṣkulī. Over centuries, as the Sanskrit word Śaṣkulī traveled across different regions of India, it underwent phonetic shifts: In the North & West, the word evolved through Prakrit into Chakli (retaining the circular, coiled meaning).
In the South cultures translated the physical action of making it, twisting the dough giving us the beautiful descriptive name Murukku (which literally means twisted in Tamil).
Sushruta was deeply concerned with the concept of Agni (metabolic digestive fire). He categorized foods based on whether they were Guru (heavy to digest)/Laghu (light to digest). He noted that deep-frying grain dough in ghee makes it highly caloric & strength-giving (Bala-vardhana), but it can be incredibly heavy for the stomach.
To fix this chemical problem, ancient Indian cooks did something brilliant that Sushruta documented: they introduced Masha (Black Gram/Urad Dal) into the rice flour matrix. By mixing rice flour with roasted, ground urad dal, they created a complete amino acid profile (rice is low in lysine but high in methionine, while dal is high in lysine but low in methionine).
A few might think why did Sushruta spend time documenting a fried, coiled snack in a medical text meant for surgeons? Because of shelf-life & thermodynamics.
In ancient India, monks, traders & soldiers traveling across vast empires needed food that met 3 strict scientific conditions:
- It could not contain moisture (water causes bacterial spoilage).
- It had to be compact & physically rigid so it would not crumble into dust in a horse carriage.
- It had to be nutrient-dense to sustain high physical exertion.
By taking the Śaṣkulī dough, piping it into tight, concentric, interlocking coils (which structurally reinforces the snack against breaking) & deep-frying it until 100% of the water content evaporated, ancient Indians invented the ultimate preservative-free, shelf-stable survival ration.
When you hear the crunch of a Murukku today, you are literally tasting a recipe that was vetted, chemically balanced & medically approved by the Father of Surgery himself, Acharya Sushruta, 1000s yrs ago.
So, the next time you serve Murukku/Chakli with tea, you can proudly tell your guests: You are not just eating a snack. You are consuming a highly engineered, ancient Ayurvedic military ration designed to preserve human tissue :))
I know #ARR drew 'inspiration' from a number of works of #MSV..
But this...am I alone in finding them too close..?
'பல்லவி கிடைத்தது...' MSV கிட்ட இருந்து ARR க்கு பல்லவி கிடைத்ததா..? 😆

Anshul Kuncha was 28.
An Indian man in Pennsylvania, working late at night, delivering pizza , trying to build a life.
He was lured to a vacant apartment with a fake order.
The pizzas were left untouched.
He was followed.
Then he was shot dead.
And the silence is DEFEANING.
If this were any other community, politicians would be holding press conferences, media panels would be running nonstop, and every activist account would be screaming his name.
But because he was Indian, people want to file it away as “just another crime story.”
No.
Say his name: Anshul Kuncha.
An Indian immigrant was murdered while working.
His life mattered.
His family deserves JUSTICE.
And America needs to stop treating violence against Indians like background noise.
It's not rape. It's Love Jihad. Please stop being bigoted @jihadwatchRS. The dirty non-muslim women should be thankful that they are being "visited" by the Noble Ones (as they will explain to the world).

Her name is Sarita Kashyap, single mother for the past 20 years.
She has a daughter who is studying in college. To support her family, she runs a Rajma Chawal (kidney beans and rice) stall on her scooter near a CNG pump in Peeragarhi, Delhi. The prices are:
Half plate: 40 rupees
Full plate: 60 rupees
But...
Even if you don't have money, she won't let you go hungry. She'll feed you, saying, "Eat, pay when you can, or don't pay at all," regardless of your caste, religion, or community.
She feeds poor children in her neighborhood for free, and buys them school supplies, books, uniforms, shoes – anything they need.
And yes...she also tutors the children in her free time.
Has any channel highlighted this woman?
No...
Because there's no glamour in this woman's story.
Anyway, I salute this woman from the bottom of my heart.
May she earn a lot and achieve great success in her life...
The hotel that burnt in Delhi had permission for 6 rooms.
They built 25.
They needed NOCs from the fire department and probably the municipality to operate.
They didn't have it.
They were supposed to have a fire escape and an evacuation plan
They didn't.
Every building should be built in such a way that they should give free access to the fire brigade
They didn't.
On the above violations alone, they should have been shut down.
Yet, not only where they operating, they were literally flourishing.
Today 21 people died brutal deaths, including an entire family of 8, because the govt servants that were supposed to ensure stuff like this doesn't happen, took money and looked the other way.
21 innocent people, some of them medical patients, were burnt to death, because a group of people who were supposed to do their job, didn't do it.
21 people looking forward to their lives, were terminated, because a group of rapacious govt servants decided that bribe money was more important than people's lives.
Because for the govt, the value of a life lost due to government negligence, is worth Rs 2 Lakhs in Ex-Gratia.
The bribe amount of looking the other way, is many times that.
And the sad part is, every member involved in the heinous act of allowing this hotel to run and burn, will keep their jobs, get their salary, get the dues that the 8th Pay Commission will inevitable shower on them get promotions where they will take more bribes and kill more people and then retire into a glorious sunset with index linked pensions.
And the guy who ran this hotel. Nothing will happen to him.
He will blame some underling, get a new GST no in his wife's name and then run 14 other hotels like this.
P:S: The Delhi CM has ordered a "Magisterial" enquiry. What's the point of it all, when the so called "Magistrate" might also be the part of this food chain.
P:P:S: If the govt is so serious about punishing the people, let them book every govt officer involved in this in a case of Murder. And then jail them for life.
A very tough fact but we need to face it
Bereaucratic apathy and corruption has killed more Indian citizens than the terrorists sent by our enemy nation

No national media covered the launch of #Ilaiyaraaja symphony last year at London..
But they are ready to grab the "mismanagement glitches" topic at Chennai concert last Sunday..
Vivek Agarwal's father was admitted to MAX Hospital. Seven members of his family were staying at the ill-fated Hotel Flourish Stays, where the fire broke out.
Not a single one of them survived.
Entire family was wiped out because some fire officer allegedly took a bribe to issue a fire clearance, some government babu never checked the building plans, and authorities ignored the illegal restaurant operating in the basement.
Now they will find the owner and put all the blame and act as if they are serious. But they won't allow anyone to talk about the system failure that made this tragedy possible.
Sadly, the news cycle will move on, and so will most people.
43 Years of Sagara Sangamam
All time classic from K.Viswanath, the first collaboration with Kamal Hassan, they would later do Swathimutyam and Subhasankalpam.
The story of Balu an aspiring dancer, son of a cook, who has the talent, passion, but his poverty prevents him from pursuing it. He comes across Madhavi( Jayaprada), a rich girl, who seeing the talent in Balu, decides to help him in pursuing his dream. However destiny deals a cruel blow, leading Balu to become a cynical alcoholic.
Viswanath wonderfully deals with the themes of heartbreak, destiny, in his usual sensitive manner. The climax has to be one of the most poignant ever.
While Kamal is brilliant as usual as Balu, the movie has two more great performances.
Jayaprada as Madhavi is top notch, and she looks gorgeous. Vishwanath's movies always had strong female characters, and Madhavi is one. The woman who truly understand Balu's passion, tries her best to help him, even when he has become a wreck.
The other character is Raghu, played by Sharat Babu, Balu's close friend, who stands by him throughout, even when he is on a downward slope. Sharat Babu has been one actor who always delivered in a good role, and here too the same.
Ilayaraja composes for Vishwanath the first time, and the result is an outstanding score from the romantic "Mounamelanoi" to the haunting "Vedam Anuvuna Naadam" to the divine opening song "Om Namah Sivaya", every song is a gem.
