Year 8 were joined by a selection of Year 9 students for photography. They were given the challenge to take surreal photographs around school, inspired by photographer Bill Brandt. They had to consider light, composition, scale & colour. The results are very impressive!

The U6 A Level artists have started their 15 hour mock. Each student is responding individually to their A Level Art project- there's a range of oil paintings, etching & mixed media artwork. They have made an impressive start and it's exciting to see their pieces develop.

Year 8 visited the National Museum of Wales to experience internationally renowned artwork from Monet, Cezanne & Rodin. They were fascinated by a workshop exploring 'Art & Activism' which encouraged us to consider how art can challenge & make a powerful impact on society.

The Art scholars spent a day making driftwood sculptures. Driftwood is tricky- you have to go with the shapes&textures it provides, rather than force it into an intended structure. All students did incredibly well-going out of their comfort zone&challenging their skills.

The Year 11 Art students have completed their mock GCSE exam this week. They have worked incredibly hard to complete 10 hours of work, producing hugely impressive results. Marvellous work, Year 11!

On their final day, they took in beautiful panoramic views of Paris from Sacre Coeur. They continued to the Dali Museum, then explored the quaint streets of Montmatre. The students have had an incredible weekend in Paris & return full of inspiration!

The A Level Art & Photography students had a fantastic day visiting the Musee d’Orsay this morning, to view famous Impressionist paintings. They then took a train to the Palace of Versailles and were amazed by the decadent and lavish interiors.

The Sixth Form Art & Photography students arrived safely in Paris. So far, they have travelled by Metro to the amazing Musee Rodin, in awe of the collection on display. They ventured back on the Metro to the Hard Rock Cafe in the evening for a meal.
