41/ Almost a month into ownership. We thought we'd be further along. In reality, there has only been 12 days it was worked on. Everything takes longer than expected. Its not our first build, but it is our first beyond the basics

28/ Day 10 Pt 5:
ctd.. & took out a portion of a roof support for the big skylight to be fitted next week. Sound deadening was applied to the remaining side & roof panels. It was oddly satisfying removing the protective film on the Maxxfan!

Day 6 Part 4: It looks like it's turning into a spaceship now, but the work done at the start (which won't be seen) will have us cosy and insulated against cold and noise.

Day 6 Pt 3: Going overboard on the sound deadening of the rear arches. Worth it- the reduction in noise was apparent on a drive.Fine-tuning with a sander on Day 7 should have it done as the sander was @ home & not @ the workshop🥴

Day 5: Holes were to be cut in the roof but some of the stuff couldn't be gotten locally. It had to wait. The floor was started with 25×50mm battens & 25mm Xtratherm insulation board. It took 6+hrs & not even glued!

I'm gonna do a thread on our #selfbuild van & progress. Let's see how far we get.
The base: Citroën Relay L4H2.
There's just enough height for my 5' 11" husband to stand + the added floor insulation + roof insulation.
