A long post. #Sidekick1 vs #Sidekick2 saved and compressed spectrum in @ekahau
If you look in your survey file (extract the esx) you can find that SK1 uses 78kHz RBW for a few sweeps, but most are used with 156kHz.
SK2 does the same but with 39kHz for a few sweeps, but 99% of all sweeps is done with 156kHz same as SK1.
Why so bad? Because If you count the sweeps, you will se that SK1 has saved WAY more sweeps per second vs SK2.
I looked at my first SK2 file a few days ago, but this problem has been here all along. ๐ง A lot less sweeps is saved for SK2 than SK1 and with the same RBW.
In the picture below we have 24 seconds on SK1 and SK2
SK1, 156kHz RBW, 438 sweeps
SK2, 156kHz RBW, 138 sweeps
If I understand their config correctly.
Something is up, and I am amazed that nobody has mentioned this before.

It depends, it depends right? The hardware, the sensitivity, the RBW (resolution bandwidth) and a lot more.
To the left we have a Sweep scan of a section of the 6GHz band at WLPC using the @Aaronia_AG Spectran V6 and to the right we have @ekahau Sidekick2.
The avg noise floor in Ekahau with SK2 is 1dB above the limit where they paint the waterfall green. This makes it difficult to see weak signals.

Yo @ekahau what about letting use do a bit more in your spectrum view. For example letting use move the y-axis. #Sidekick2 spectrum shows a higher higher noise floor than the #Sidekick1 most likely bcs a more narrow RBW.
If we could change RBW and the reference level it could be easier to find a weak signal that is hidden in all the neon green color. SK1 is better at this.
