The victim, who suffered from mental illness, had become lost before being killed. He is the second civilian killed/injured by eastern Sool militia within the past 24 hours. The victim is shown in the video below. The Somaliland government has not yet commented on either incident.

Authorities in Northeastern State have yet to issue an official statement regarding the death toll or the circumstances surrounding the fighting. However, residents said the situation in Ari-Caddeeye has since calmed, although an unspecified number of people were reportedly injured during the violence.
Local elders and community leaders are engaged in efforts to defuse tensions and prevent further bloodshed. Independent sources said the clashes came amid recurring disputes, revenge-related killings, and longstanding local conflicts that have periodically fueled instability in the region.

The Path to State-Building and Security Consolidation in Northern ๐ธ๐ด
The regions of #Sool, #Sanaag and #Togdheer have long stood at the heart of Somaliaโs unity and the preservation of its national sovereignty.
Today, as these regions face a range of challenges, including external interference and foreign incursions, the need for genuine state-building and sustainable security has become more urgent than ever.
To fulfill the aspirations of the local population for effective governance, the institutions, authority, and public services of the Federal Government of๐ธ๐ด must be meaningfully extended to the #northern #regions. National unity should not remain merely a #slogan; it must be reflected through the visible presence and practical impact of the federal state.
The security and stability of these regions depend largely on strengthening the Somali National Army (SNA)particularly the 26th Division responsible for the northern territories. This force must be provided with adequate equipment, professional training, and the operational capacity necessary to safeguard the security of Northern ๐ธ๐ด and protect it from external interference by foreign actors, including the United Arab Emirates ๐ฆ๐ช and #Zionist ๐ฎ๐ฑ interests.
A strong and capable SNA remains the first line of defense against any attempt to #undermine Somaliaโs sovereignty, whether such threats originate from within the country or from abroad.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud @HassanSMohamud should give serious consideration to the strategic importance of the 26th Division and take concrete steps toward its modernization, reinforcement, and operational readiness.
In conclusion, I remain hopeful that the President of the Federal Republic will respond #positively to the #calls and #encouragement of his people and take the necessary measures to strengthen state institutions and security in Northern ๐ธ๐ด .
