India successfully launches its first solar mission, #AdityaL1, carrying 7 different payloads to conduct a detailed study of the Sun. @ISRO’s Aditya-L1 will be placed at about 1.5 million km from the Earth & will be functional for 5 yrs. It will be the first time that India is placing a #SpaceObservatory to study the Sun 24x7.
• This study of the Sun is essential for the safety of #satellites and #CommunicationSystems as solar disturbances and #SolarStorms affect them.
• Aditya-L1 will also investigate #SpaceWeather, including the solar wind’s origin, composition, etc.
• Aditya-L1 even aims to #UnlockTheSecrets behind the remarkable temperature difference between the Sun’s corona, having a temperature of up to 2 million°C, in stark contrast to the #SunSurface at around 5,000°C.
Aditya-L1, following #Chandrayaan3, establishes India as an undisputed #SpaceSuperpower.
